At BitMobile, we’ve always believed technology belongs in the hands of real people, the ones building, creating, and connecting on their own terms. So when a member of our community brings that idea to life in a way we never expected, we have to stop and celebrate it.

Meet FaveJohn, a crochet artist based in Nigeria who recently recreated the BitMobile emblem entirely by hand. It’s the kind of creativity that stops you mid-scroll, and reminds you why community matters.

We sat down with FaveJohn to talk about her craft, her creativity, and what technology means to a maker like her. Read on below!

Interview with FaveJohn

How long have you been crocheting, and how did you first start sharing your work online?

FJ: I’ve been crocheting for a while now, and it started as something I genuinely enjoyed doing creatively. Over time, I began sharing my pieces online through social media because I wanted people to see the process, the effort, and the creativity behind handmade work. The positive reactions encouraged me to keep posting and improving.

How did you first discover BitMobile, and what caught your attention about it?

FJ: I first came across BitMobile online (it was one of the many projects that was tagged for me to make a crochet piece for), and what caught my attention was the brand’s focus on technology, connectivity, and digital innovation. I liked how community-driven the brand felt, and it inspired me creatively.

What inspired you to turn a digital brand like BitMobile into a handmade piece?

FJ: I love challenging myself creatively, so I thought it would be interesting to transform a digital identity into something physical and handmade through crochet. The BitMobile logo was especially inspiring because of how clean and visually attractive it is, and I wanted to recreate that beauty in a handmade form while blending creativity with technology.

What does digital ownership or Web3 mean to you personally?

FJ: To me, digital ownership and Web3 are about creators having more control over their work, identity, and opportunities online. It creates space for people to build communities, showcase their creativity, and potentially earn directly from their skills without too many limitations.

As a creator, how do you see technology helping artists like you grow or earn?

FJ: Technology has made it easier for creators to reach wider audiences, connect with communities, and turn creative skills into opportunities. Most platforms online allow artists to showcase their work globally, collaborate with brands, and even build personal businesses around what they create.

What does having secure access to digital tools mean for your future as a creator?

FJ: Having secure access to digital tools means stability and freedom as a creator. It gives me confidence to share my work, connect with opportunities, and grow my brand online knowing that my identity and digital presence are protected.

The Thread Continues

FaveJohn didn’t stop at BitMobile. She also created a piece for BioFi, and it’s just as striking.

BioFi is the Web3 ecosystem at the heart of BitMobile’s device network, built on the principle that digital ownership belongs to real people.

Seeing it reimagined in handmade form stopped us in our tracks.

There’s something powerful about a Web3 ecosystem being brought to life by hand, and it’s exactly the kind of human creativity BioFi exists to support.

Community Is What We Build For

Community shows up in unexpected places. We’re honored FaveJohn saw something worth celebrating in BitMobile and BioFi, and that she brought us along for it.

If you’re creating something inspired by BitMobile or BioFi, we want to see it. Tag us on X, and show us what you’re making @BitMobileTech or @BioFiGlobal!
