Access to PhēnixLoc is protected by Say-Tec, Finnovant’s proprietary biometric authentication system. Whether using voice, facial recognition, or other biometric markers, only the rightful owner can unlock and retrieve their data. This eliminates the risks associated with passwords and traditional authentication methods, providing a seamless and highly secure user experience. However, users are also required to securely store a 12-word mnemonic phrase during account creation, which can be used to recover access if biometric authentication is unavailable. PhēnixLoc offers a range of subscription plans to suit different needs: a free 14-day trial with 50MB of storage; a Basic plan at $5 USD per year providing 1GB of storage; and a Plus plan at $20 USD per year offering 5GB of storage along with full access to the Endowment Center features. Users can easily upgrade or change plans within their account settings to match their storage and security requirements. 

The Endowment Function: Digital Legacy Planning 

PhēnixLoc introduces a forward-thinking “Endowment” function, addressing the increasingly important issue of digital legacy. Users can securely designate a trusted family member, legal representative, or another approved party to gain access to their digital assets in the event of incapacitation or death. This ensures that vital information—legal documents, personal memories, and more—can be responsibly passed on according to your wishes, without compromising security. 

To set up an Endowment, the account holder names a recipient by email within the Endowment Center. The Endowment files and data are held securely and only transferred if the account holder’s subscription expires without renewal. Recipients do not need to have a PhēnixLoc account but must acknowledge their appointment before they can access the Endowment. Account holders receive multiple email reminders before subscription expiration to prevent accidental release of their Endowment. This process ensures your digital legacy is handled exactly as you intend, with full control and transparency.

Monitor Your Storage Usage 

Users can easily monitor their storage usage by logging into their account, selecting their profile, and navigating to the storage section in the menu. This view shows how much memory has been used in each file category and how much storage remains under the current plan.
