That’s the idea behind our upcoming program, ‘Gift a Phēnix X Journey.’
Starting soon, individuals, businesses, organizations, and family offices will be able to purchase a Phēnix X on behalf of someone in Africa.
BitMobile handles the logistics. We work with our on-the-ground networks across South Africa, Lesotho, Zambia, Nigeria, and Kenya to ensure the device reaches a verified recipient. And we close the loop, letting you know who received it and what that access means for them.
It’s a direct link between someone who wants to give and someone who needs to receive. No complicated grant applications. No opaque donation buckets. Just an incredible phone, a person, and a connection that didn’t exist before.
Roughly 3.7 billion people remain offline globally. In Sub-Saharan Africa, only about a third of adults own a smartphone, even though mobile connectivity is consistently cited as one of the most powerful drivers of economic inclusion in emerging markets.
When someone gains access to a mobile device, they gain access to critical educational content, mobile banking, digital job markets, health information, and communication tools that most of us take for granted.
The gap isn’t about desire or ambition. It’s about access. And access starts with a powerful device.
We built this program with a few different people in mind.
There’s the individual who wants their purchase to mean something beyond themselves, who likes the idea of a gift that keeps giving long after it’s sent.
There’s the business, organization, or family office looking for a meaningful way to put its values into action, whether that’s a one-off gift or a larger bulk contribution tied to a CSR initiative.
And there’s the person who simply wants to nominate someone they know, a family member in another country, a community member who’s been shut out of the digital economy, and make sure a device finds its way to them.
All of them have a place in this program.
